【报告摘要】During this presentation we will explore the concept of enhancing forecast accuracy via projections with the origin of this being forecast reconciliation. We will explore some theoretical results that provide some guarantees but also demonstrate forecast improvements across several empirical applications.

【报告人简介】George Athanasopoulos is Professor and Head of Econometrics and Business Statistics at Monash University, internationally recognized for his work in forecasting, time series analysis, and applied econometrics. He co-authored the widely used open-access textbook Forecasting: Principles and Practice, with over 10,000 citations and global adoption in teaching. A leading expert in hierarchical and grouped time series forecasting, he has developed influential methods for forecast reconciliation used in national statistics, energy, and health sectors. George is a Director and Past President of the International Institute of Forecasters, has led ARC-funded research, and received numerous awards for research and teaching excellence.
