【报告摘要】In this presentation, we shall give an account of degradation models that were motivated from actual industrial projects that I have been involved with over the past 30+ years. It highlights the need to integrate stochastic modeling with statistical inferences and reliability-centered maintenance strategies so as to realize the value of reliability engineering in asset management. In particular, we outline a journey in the quest for an appropriate model to explain the existence of failure-free life and how it could be applied to an actual industrial project involving systems that demand high availability. 

【报告人简介】董润桢 (Tang Loon Ching)于1992年获颁美国康乃尔大学运筹学博士，目前是新加坡国立大学工业系统工程与管理系教授与新加坡工程院院士。曾于2008-2015年间任该系系主任，并于2014-2020年间出任淡马锡国防系统学院院长，2012-2015年间当选为国际工业与系统工程师协会领导亚州区的副主席，也受邀成为国际工程资产管理协会会士，也是浙江大学首批全球9个国际杰出教席，并入选中国中科院国际杰出学者项目。历年来从事的研究包括系统韧性工程、质量与可靠性工程、物流及系统优化等, 在国际刊物发表百多篇这几个方面的文章，常受邀于相关的国际会议做主题报告，也担任多个相关国际会议的主席。目前是两份国际知名学术期刊的主编，也获颁数个国际级别的最佳文章奖项，撰写的关于Six Sigma的书也获颁国际质量学会的首届最佳书籍奖。董院士曾为新加坡国防部和内政部以及多家跨国企业提供咨询及培训，并在亚太区域为多个企业培训出数千名质量与可靠性工程和管理人才，和近百名六西格码黑带大师。他曾受委为新加坡国家创新与生产力局以及国防科技局培训学院的咨询委员，于2019年国庆获颁国家长期服务勋章，2014年获颁国际工业工程与运营管理杰出教育工作者奖。
