Differential Chow Form and Sparse Differential Resultant

Abstract:  The Chow form and the resultant are both basic concepts in algebraic geometry and recently also become powerful tools in elimination theory. Differential algebraic geometry is a branch of mathematics which aims to study the solution set of differential polynomial equations from the algebraic point of view, so it can be regarded as a generalization of algebraic geometry.  Naturally, it is meaningful to develop the theory of differential Chow form and differential resultant.  In this talk, we first introduce the intersection theory for generic differential polynomials.  Next, we give the definition of differential Chow form and show its basic properties, such as Poisson-type product formula, differential Chow variety and so on. Then, we briefly introduce results about the sparse differential resultant.
