China's Economic Growth Rate: Secular Stagnation or Diminishing Total Factor Productivity

【报告人简介】Abdol S. Soofi is a professor in the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Soofi received his PhD in economics from the University of Californian, Riverside, in 1981. He has published over fifty scholarly articles in various academic journals in the fields of economics and international finance, input-output modeling, economic doctrinal history, nonlinear deterministic dynamics and economics, and technology modeling and management. Soofi was a visiting scholar at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in the summer of 2002. He is also a Fulbright senior specialist. Soofi’s current research deals with using theories of nonlinear dynamics in rigorously defining financial integration (synchronization of financial markets as oscillating, independent dynamical systems) and testing for financial contagion/crises. He also apply network analytic tools and graph theory in modeling innovation.
